These terms apply when you use langit.com.my and when you buy products, gifts, experiences or programmes from us. By using the site or placing an order you accept them. Please read them — they are written to be read, not skimmed past.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Langit Collective, trading as Langit (“we”, “us”). Where an order, gifting arrangement or programme is confirmed in writing — a quotation, invoice or confirmation email — the details in that document apply alongside these terms, and they take priority where the two differ. Nothing in these terms affects your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 or other Malaysian law.
Using this website
You are welcome to browse, read and share links to anything on this site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- copy, scrape or systematically download content, including photographs and farmer stories, for republication or commercial use without our written permission;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or any connected system, or to probe, scan or test its vulnerabilities;
- interfere with the site's operation, including by introducing malicious code or overloading it with automated requests;
- use the site to send unsolicited marketing or to impersonate Langit or anyone else; or
- use the site in any way that breaks the law.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to place an order or book a programme. If you order on behalf of a company, school or organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it to these terms.
Our products
We sell heirloom rice, grains, spices, oils and other produce grown by smallholder farmers, largely in Sabah and Sarawak. This shapes what you can expect from us:
- Natural variation. Heirloom varieties are hand-harvested and minimally processed. Colour, grain size, aroma and cooking time vary from harvest to harvest and farm to farm. Such variation is a characteristic of the product, not a defect.
- Seasonal availability. Supply follows the harvest. A product may sell out until the next season, and we cannot always guarantee a particular variety or quantity.
- Allergens and handling. Our products are packed in facilities that may also handle other grains, nuts, seeds and spices. If you have a serious allergy, email us before ordering and we will tell you what we know about a product's handling.
- Storage. Minimally processed rice and spices keep best sealed, in a cool, dry place. Please follow any storage guidance on the packaging and use products by their best-before date.
We describe and photograph our products as accurately as we can, but images are illustrative and colours can look different on different screens.
Orders, pricing and payment
An order is accepted when we confirm it in writing and not before. We may decline an order — for example if a product is unavailable or a price was shown in error — in which case we will tell you and refund anything you have paid. Prices are in Malaysian ringgit. Any taxes and delivery charges that apply will be shown before you commit to the order or set out in your quotation. Payment terms for wholesale and corporate customers are agreed in writing with each customer.
Delivery
Free shipping over RM80 — Peninsular Malaysia. Delivery to other areas, and delivery timescales, are confirmed when you order. Delivery dates are estimates: weather, harvest timing and couriers' schedules can cause delays, and we will tell you if we expect one. Please check the delivery address carefully — we are not responsible for orders that cannot be delivered because an address was incomplete or incorrect, though we will do what we reasonably can to help recover them. Responsibility for the goods passes to you when they are delivered.
Returns and problems with an order
Because our products are food, we cannot accept returns of items that have been opened, or of unopened items simply because you have changed your mind. If an item arrives damaged, spoiled, incorrect or short, email [email protected] within 7 days of delivery with your order reference and, where possible, photographs. We will replace the item or refund it — including delivery for that item — once we have looked into it. This does not limit any remedy you are entitled to under the Consumer Protection Act 1999.
Corporate and festive gifting
Gifting orders are quoted individually. The quotation sets out contents, quantities, packaging, any custom branding or cards, delivery arrangements and the order deadline. Because we source and pack to order, changes to quantity or contents after we have confirmed may not always be possible, and costs already incurred may be charged. Where you ask us to deliver to a list of recipients, you are responsible for giving us accurate details and for having a proper basis to share them with us for that purpose.
Experiences and learning programmes
Paddy tours, tasting workshops, pop-ups and customised programmes take place with farming communities, sometimes in remote highland areas reached by long road journeys. When you book, you agree that:
- the details are confirmed in writing — itinerary, inclusions, price, payment schedule and the cancellation terms that apply to that programme;
- plans can change — weather, road conditions, the harvest or the needs of the host community may require us to change an itinerary at short notice; where we must cancel, we will offer another date or refund what you paid for the part that did not go ahead;
- you will tell us what we need to know — dietary requirements, allergies, medical conditions or mobility needs that affect your ability to take part safely;
- you will follow reasonable instructions from our team, guides and hosts, respect local customs, and treat the communities who welcome you with courtesy; and
- you will arrange suitable travel and medical insurance for trips to rural areas.
Farm visits involve walking on uneven ground, working outdoors in heat and rain, and travelling on rural roads. Participants take part in physical activities at their own discretion.
Intellectual property
The text, photographs, illustrations, logos and design of this site belong to Langit or to the photographers and farmers who have allowed us to use their work. You may quote short passages with a credit and a link back to the original page. For anything else — including using photographs or farmer stories in print, online or in presentations — email us for permission first. The Langit name and leaf mark are ours and may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement without our written agreement.
Third-party links
Our site may link to other websites, such as media coverage or partners' pages. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or free from errors. Recipes, cooking guidance and articles on the blog are general information shared in good faith; they are not professional nutritional, medical or dietary advice.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business or opportunity, arising from your use of the site or our products and services. Where we are liable to you in connection with an order or booking, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for that order or booking. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Indemnity
If you breach these terms, or use the site or our services unlawfully, you agree to cover reasonable losses and costs we incur as a direct result, including reasonable legal costs. We will tell you promptly about any claim this applies to and act reasonably in handling it.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or withdraw access to the site, or decline future orders or bookings, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms. Orders and bookings already confirmed will be honoured or refunded unless the breach relates to them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, although we would always prefer to resolve a problem by talking to you first.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here when you place an order or book a programme is the version that applies to it. The date at the top shows when the terms were last revised. How we handle personal data is covered separately in our privacy policy.
