Langit Collective: Reimagining Rural Communities
When we (Langit) started in 2015, we asked ourselves a very naive question - "What if we introduced these delicious heirloom rice that we tasted in the village to more people?". The rest is history.
This publication presents a compilation of rice cultivation best practices tailored for small-scale farmers in rural areas. Covering the full farming cycle from seeds to harvest, the recommended techniques incorporate indigenous processes and modern innovations. Structured as a step-by-step guide, this publication is the culmination of four years (and counting) of working alongside the Lun Bawang rice farmers of Sarawak’s Long Semadoh to carry out observation and research on the ground.
Readers will also get a glimpse of Langit’s evolution from a startup into a growing enterprise championing regenerative agriculture in Malaysia. Through such literature, Langit aspires to keep nature-positive traditional farming methods alive, while supporting rural farming communities to achieve a fair balance between sustainable farming, economic prosperity, and personal wellbeing.
